1. How cancellation works
Cancellation timing determines refund eligibility. The exact policy and version applicable to a reservation are shown to the guest before payment and are stored with the booking; a later policy change does not alter a booking that is already confirmed.
2. Guest cancellations
When a guest cancels, the refund is calculated by the Platform from the applicable policy version, the cancellation time and the check-in date. Lodging charges, cleaning fees, refundable security deposits, the platform service fee and taxes may be treated differently from one another. Where taxes were collected by the Platform, the tax portion is adjusted according to applicable law and the Platform's tax rules.
3. Host cancellations
Where a host cancels a confirmed reservation and no legitimate cancellation right applies, the guest receives a refund of the amounts paid for that reservation as calculated by the Platform, and the host may be subject to listing or account consequences.
4. Cancellations by Pacific Luxe Stays
We may cancel a reservation where reasonably necessary because of fraud, safety concerns, invalid permits, payment failure, legal requirements or a material policy violation. Where we cancel for reasons not attributable to the guest, the guest is refunded as calculated by the Platform.
5. Refund processing
Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method through Stripe. Processing time depends on your bank or card issuer and is outside our control. Partial refunds may occur where only part of a booking is refundable.
6. Modifications and no-shows
Date, guest-count and other changes are subject to availability, the host's approval and any resulting price difference. A no-show is treated as a cancellation at the time of check-in unless applicable law provides otherwise.
7. Force majeure and mandatory rights
Where an event outside reasonable control prevents a stay, we will apply the applicable policy fairly. Nothing in this policy limits refund rights that apply under mandatory law.
